Felipe Nasr has predicted that the new Haas F1 team will hit the ground running this season.
The American outfit made an impressive debut in the first pre-season test in Barcelona, with Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen completing plenty of laps.
Nasr thinks they’ll be Sauber’s rivals this season as a host of teams scrap for the lower points.
"With the resources and financial side they have they can catch up very quickly, they can develop very quickly," Nasr said.
"It's difficult for a new team to start a season in F1, to get the operations side correct, to get everything smooth, but I'm sure with time they will be very competitive."
Haas are expected to fair far better than previous ‘new’ teams Manor, Caterham, and HRT in 2010.
However, they have far greater resources and are targeting points in the first race of the season in Australia next month.
