Jun.21 - Stefano Domenicali has played down any suggestion Lamborghini might enter formula one.

"In the short term, no," said the Italian, who became the Italian sports car marque's new CEO earlier this year.

Domenicali, of course, is best known for his long career in formula one at Ferrari, where between 2008 and 2014 he was the team principal.

He was then signed up by VW-owned Audi, who in turn own Lamborghini.

But as for Lamborghini entering F1, Domenicali is quoted by Tuttosport: "Right now our priorities are different.

"We need to focus our investments on realising our SUV Urus (car) and the consolidation of our image," Domenicali added.

As for claims Lamborghini may be at the forefront of development of an all-electric supercar, he said: "Not before 2024 -- there is still no technology.

"But I am convinced that we must prepare for this change."
