Lewis Hamilton snatched the lead of the championship with a crucial victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix, denting Nico Rosberg's hopes of a maiden crown.
Hamilton then slated Rosberg in the drivers' press conference, questioning the legality of his pole position lap in qualifying.
Daniel Ricciardo finished third for Red Bull ahead of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel but they failed to come close to the Mercedes pair.
Hamilton took the lead on the first lap and held it all the way, despite Rosberg's late pressure.
The Englishman is now the overwhelming favourite to land his fourth title after overturning the German's 49-point lead.
The way he bullied Rosberg off the start line and controlled the race sent out an emphatic statement - and Rosberg will not have missed it.
Hamilton pushed the German out wide, muscled through and the crowd knew then that the race was done.
Rosberg harried and pushed, but each time he got close to his team-mate, Hamilton sped up and disappeared. It was a simple race.
If he can land another blow in Rosberg's home of Germany next week, then it is difficult to see a recovery from he 31-year-old.
Hamilton has the title back in his grasp and it is very difficult to see it being ripped from him.
