Rosberg on pole for home race in Germany
Nico Rosberg will start tomorrow's German Grand Prix on pole position after beating Lewis Hamilton in qualifying at Hockenheim.
The German beat his Mercedes team-mate by just over a tenth, with Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull in third.
Hamilton will be inevitably frustrated that he could not beat Rosberg's lap, but he was fortunate not to be given a reprimand after practice for an unsafe release in the pit lane in practice three.
Max Verstappen starts fourth, while the Ferrari duo of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel start fifth and sixth.
It was another disappointing session for Williams, who line up eighth and 10th but behind Nico Hulkenberg's Force India.
Jenson Button recovered from an eye injury yesterday to qualify 12th, ahead of Fernando Alonso in 14th for McLaren who were less competitive than expected.
Sauber prop up the pile once again, with Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson at the back of the pack.
