Feb.5 - Former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has lashed out at the sport's new owners Liberty Media.

The 87-year-old said last week that he strongly disagrees with Liberty's decision to ban grid girls.

But he has now told Sonntagsblick newspaper: "So far I have not seen a single thing that makes sense.

"They are doing almost everything wrong," Ecclestone charged.

One theory is that Liberty - whose F1 operations are being run by Chase Carey, Ross Brawn and Sean Bratches - is making a deliberate effort to erase the entire Ecclestone legacy.

"That's the way it appears," Ecclestone agreed.

Bernie took F1 from my early era in the 70s where it had a large following but was not truely commercial, into the modern era, of true commercialism .. He definitely expanded the fan base, and never never excluded anyone ... even the most prudish person must have been able to enjoy the period where Bernie was in control ... Do not forget that during his time the world has had two major financial crisis, which has no doubt hit the pockets of many teams and would be viewers, so it is up to the current media people to go a few steps better ... No one can say for sure if they can do that, and the best count of success will prove in the future, to be how many more bum,s on seats they can get.

Banning the famous 'Grid Girls' from the start of Grand Prix - is an unbelievably STUPID decision.. Liberty Media got it horribly wrong with a pretty simple thing. The mess they're likely to make with the more convoluted areas of F1 - will be extremely bad for Formula One.. Come back Bernie !!!!!!
