Tost: 2019 'becoming boring' already
The 2019 championship fight is already becoming boring, according to Toro Rosso boss Franz Tost.
In Barcelona, Mercedes' advantage over Ferrari is greater than ever, after four consecutive 1-2 finishes so far.
"We have problems in the slow corners," said Charles Leclerc in Barcelona. "Hopefully a solution will be found soon."
Ferrari's growing deficit is despite the fact that an engine upgrade was fast-tracked by two races.
"We thought we would close the gap," Leclerc admitted. "But even Red Bull are getting closer to us."
Toro Rosso's Tost says the feedback from his friends outside of F1 is that the sport's 2019 season is not interesting.
"We have two cars in front that are winning race after race and I think that's not good for Formula 1 because it starts to become boring," he said.
"Friends of mine say 'I don't watch F1 anymore because the same are always winning'."
Mercedes' Toto Wolff, though, insists that at round five on the 21-race calendar, Ferrari and even Red Bull are still in it.
"In my eyes, five drivers can become world champion," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

& then enjoin them to radically experiment with engine maps & car set-ups during the next races, so that something else interesting happens.

I agree. Have followed F1 since 1982 and am now not watching the races this year because it is no longer F1 racing but F1 procession.
Further commentators show their bias. Example Ricciardo backs into Kyvat and the comments are bad luck , if Vettel had done that would have been severe lasting criticism . Paul Di Resta calls Ricciardo Danny Ric whereas every other driver is by their surname.
After the 5th 1-2 in the row I will not watch f1 anymore this season.... as simple as that. There is no fun in this sport anymore. Well done to Mercedes, must be a record to get a championship after 5 races. Not sure why Toto Wolff is saying that... he knows well the will dominate every race this year and to try to give hope to the fans for a more challenging rest of the season it's ridiculous. F1 2019 it's finished for me, I won't watch it anymore. I may just check results after the races but I'm not giving my eyes and time to useless sponsor and be bored for hours.... they should really do something to make it more fan appealing or where is the point of all those millions of money going around this sport?
