Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas again was the man to beat during this 3rd and final practice session before the 2019 French Formula 1 Grand Prix. His Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton was 2nd just as he was in FP2.
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz wanted to get the most out of this 3rd and final practice for the 2019 French GP and went out as first but didn't set the first lap time. That honour was done by Williams driver Robert Kubica. He put a 1:35.832 with the red soft tyres.
Lewis Hamilton stepped in his Mercedes after the FP3 session was already 10 minutes old. Until the top teams clocked their laps we saw Nico Hulkenberg on P1 in the Renault. Valtteri Bottas was the first to put in a lap and was ride away a full second quicker with a 1:31.383 min.
In the 25 minute of the session Ferrari driver improved his time and got the fastest lap time in the Ferrari.
After 50 minutes Valtteri Bottas was still the quickest and had improved his quickest lap time to 1:30.159 min. His team mate Hamilton was only 0.041 slower. Of the top 6 cars it was Pierre Gasly who showed a poor performance again in the Red Bull Racing RB15. Until now he had clocked the 11th fastest time and still was almost 2.5 sec.
With 9 minutes to go Gasly at last improved and was 6th quickest, with only 0.061 time difference between him and his teammate Max Verstappen who was on 5th place and complaining a lot about the balance of his car.
Best of the rest again was 19 year old Lando Norris in the McLaren MCL34 power by Renault followed by Daniel Ricciardo in the Renault RS19.
The quickest lap time of last years FP3 a 1:33.666 min. was set by Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes W09.
