Grosjean in danger of losing his seat at Haas again?
Romain Grosjean is in danger of losing his place at Haas.
That is the view of Jason Watt, a former F3000 driver who thinks his fellow Dane Kevin Magnussen is in good form with the American team.
As for Magnussen's French teammate Grosjean, however, Watt is much less sure.
"I do not think he will be extended for 2020," the pundit told the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
As for Haas more generally, Watt thinks the team was the "loser" of the weekend in Austria, despite Magnussen's strong qualifying that put him fifth.
But in the race, as has been the case many times in 2019 due to the Pirelli tyre situation, the pace utterly collapsed.
"Kevin may have done the finest single lap of the weekend, but he got no reward the following day. Haas is in crisis," said Watt.
"At least the qualifying was super good marketing, which must irritate Dr Helmut Marko."
The Marko reference is because Haas is this year sponsored by Rich Energy, a new and controversial competitor to the top energy drink Red Bull.
But Rich Energy is currently not able to run its antler-style logo on the Haas cars due to a copyright claim by British bicycle maker Whyte Bikes.
A UK court has also ordered Rich Energy to reveal the financial details of its Haas title sponsorship, so that damages can be assessed.

I Think the dr Helmut Marko comment was meant as K-Mag what’s Gastly seat after the summer break. He is the only Cary person who what’s the team up next the Max. Even Hamilton do not want to race max with the same equipment.

This is one person commenting on someone else's article. That Grosjean's seat is in danger is not news I think that the news would be if he continued anywhere in an F1 seat.
I doubt that MAG will move to another team in 2020 and I hope Haas provides him a car that is closer to his skill level so he can show them.
Drivers' skills, probably, do not deteriorate that drastically. The moods, state of mind, circumstances do. In 2013, I think, in the second half of the season, the last 9 races Grosjean was second highest scoring driver on the grid.
Now that it is an open season on him, and that I have dropped Verstappen from my short list of the 5 most favorite drivers, I am adding him to the list
I followed him when he joined F1 and through his suspension, what was it one race. Anyway I pulled for him you know but I think he is too emotional while racing and produces bad decisions.
VER didn't sit right with me from my first impression, a driver must exude confidence but he was way too opinionated before he even drove in fp1 in Australia. That being said round about mid season last year he seemed to turn a corner in maturing but he is a hard charger. I don't think that is going to change. I think what VER needs is a little finesse instead of the new catch phrase in sports "smash and grab" because it is low percentages in the long run because the cost of failure is severe. Only my lousy opinion, who knows I am probably 90% wrong.
