Ecclestone: Liberty should sign two teams for 2021
Bernie Ecclestone says he has a simple solution to end the gridlocked negotiations with teams over the 2021 rules.
More meetings are set to be held over the coming days and weeks as it emerges that about half of the teams are not currently willing to sign up for the proposed regulations.
The already-delayed deadline for finalisation of the 2021 rules is October 31.
Former F1 boss Ecclestone has advice for his successors at Liberty Media.
"Do a deal with Ferrari and Red Bull," he said.
"Then you put a gun on the chest of all the others and say 'Take it or leave it'.
Ecclestone was also asked by Auto Motor und Sport about the absence at Sochi last weekend of Russian president Vladimir Putin, who the 88-year-old openly admires.
"He was in town, but had no time to go there," he said.

Who,in the world of F1 cares what Bernie ecclestone thinks- or says? He was shown the door as soon as liberty media turned up. And, F1 is supposedly trying to cut costs between the teams - or they may as well bring back the 'T' car system. Ps. no one gives a flying Cossack what Putin is up to.

Bernie's method of business when he had the Media rights to F1 were 'put a gun to the chest'take it or leave it method - pretty much like his kindred spirit Vlad Putin - and Bernie accrued up to 5 billion £s out of F1 from this formula.Mr Ecclestone may hero worship Putin,but I'm pretty sure it's not resiprocated.Lets now get back to the topic in hand ie,slagging off F1 teams/drivers/etc.

Why do you assume that Bernie played Mother Teresa? I am sure he profited from the sport, but you display greater obsession with money than he does. What's the point of bringing up the money you have no chance to getting at, and Bernie himself has sense to be discrete about?
Whether Bernie and President Putin reciprocate in mutual admiration and respect your guess is no better than anybody else's. They are two men prominent enough to attract certain media following and attention. They both make public statements. Bernie has made some public statements about Putin. Am not sure if Putin ever said anything publicly about Bernie. How you get damaged, or profit from their feelings for each other (not) being mutual is beyond me.
I fully agree with your last statement: this board is an outlet for people who mistake themselves for the people they write about. Consequently, slugging, and mud slinging at teams and drivers who, by and large, are entirely indifferent to our "passions."

I believe all opinions have validity and by that token I speak with the emotion that the situation warrants. If my comments do not meet your approval, then please feel free not to react to them. I think the above comment from Simon Saivil is very rude indeed. to use such fowl language to someone elses comment should not have been posted. it is not the first time S Saivil as used this kind of language. if all you can do is be answer someone elses comment and behave like this is very ignorant you should be taken off the f1 fansite. take note.
