Lewis Hamilton has accused Max Verstappen of being "silly" with his racing aggression.

The pair are having somewhat of a war of words at present, after clashing in Mexico over Hamilton's environmental concerns.

Mercedes' Hamilton then criticised the way Verstappen admitted to ignoring the yellow flags in qualifying. The Red Bull driver subsequently said "a silver car" should also have been penalised for the same incident.

Now, Hamilton has lashed out at Verstappen's racing tactics, after run-ins with both Mercedes cars in Sunday's Mexican GP.

"Every driver is slightly different," Hamilton said. "Some are smart and aggressive, and some are silly with it.

"With Max, if you don't give him extra space, it's very likely you're going to come together with him. He's a magnet for those kind of things."

Red Bull boss Christian Horner, however, defended the Dutchman.

"For me it's just tough racing. On some days it works out and on others it does not. I don't think Max did anything particularly wrong," he said.

But Sebastian Vettel agrees with Hamilton, saying he would "copy-paste" the Mercedes driver's comments about Verstappen.

Meanwhile, with victory in Mexico, Hamilton will wrap up his sixth drivers' title with two races to go if he simply finishes eighth in Austin.

"I don't mind waiting," he smiled. "I love racing and I take it one at a time."

I think HAM is right to say what he thinks about reckless driving by VER in a diplomat way, as Vettel then agreed in his usual diplomatic way.

VER really needs to start driving like an adult rather than an irrational kid and the sooner drivers speak out about him the less likely he will be able to drive like a maniac and get away with it!.

Bottas was asked to comment but typical Bottas (who could have been killed by Max in quali and also knocked out of the race on Sunday) opted out of giving his thoughts. Typical Bottas never really able to commit!

VER will get his day.......to smirk about not slowing down for Valteri yellow flag, shows his arrogance as a Dutchman......what else would you expect !!! The FAI needs to come down on him hard, before he kills someone --- or even HIMSELF ?

Bestcrashen reminds me of the French driver now at Hass who was just as bad. some of his driving accidents was suicidal. The stupid driving only ruins the race for themselves in the end.

Yes, Les, Senna did share many of the same arrogant "chosen one" attitudes with VER. Uh, what did that get him? I know that I will be vilified for for my irreverence but he really did cause his own problems. Fast, yes. Smart, no. The best of the best have/had both. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. It is simply my opinion.

The issue is the FAI has to ensure that no accidents are caused by dangerous driving, those who cross that line should be punished, Yes Senna was like that, so is Verstappen and so was Shumacher, all great drivers for sure but all on occasions dove others off the road, we want clean aggressive racing, it is a fine line but it is there .
