Jul.7 - Max Verstappen insists he would have "no problem" racing with Sebastian Vettel as his teammate.

As Vettel's relationship with Ferrari crumbles apparently by the hour, Red Bull boss Christian Horner continues to play down the likelihood that the quadruple world champion may return to the team he leads.

"Seb needs a good environment, but it's difficult for us to help him because we didn't expect Ferrari to treat him this way and put him on the market," Horner told Servus TV.

Horner and Dr Helmut Marko have both said a clear driver hierarchy works best, but Dutchman Verstappen thinks he could in fact work alongside the 33-year-old German.

"Two winning drivers in a team can work," he said, "like Daniel (Ricciardo) and me. I would have no problem with Seb as a teammate."

After the opening race of 2020, however, Vettel's stocks are low. Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport is even referring to him as the "new Maldonado".

Vettel told Servus TV on Monday: "I spent the day in the mountains with some fresh air which helped me to relax."

But he also fired back at some of the criticism. 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg, for example, "always leans out of the window with his comments", Vettel insisted.

Not a VET fan and never was one. BUT, he is a friggin' 4-time champion and can still drive quite well. His best revenge is to somehow win at Monza and shut up the dumbass Italian press. The "new Maldonado", indeed.

I think if Seb had not been a Red Bull driver and did not have a car that was capable of victory, like Maldanado did not, he would have been seen in the same sort of way as Maldanado. How many times has Seb crashed wtih his team mate? How many times has Lewis Hamilton crashed wiith his team mate? I think they came into F1 at the same time, did they not? Not to mention crashes with non team mates. And I do not see Max Verstappen as another Mark Webber. Crash into Max and I think he will do it back to you, I do not think Webber did that. All just my own thoughts of course, and I do acknowledge that given the right environment that Seb is really fast. And ruthless. Hence his 4 championships. And yes, I am aware you have to be ruthless to win a championship and pretty much all champions are ruthless.

Live Seb, but he has had a few tough years, seemingly losing focus a bit. Hope he gets to drive next year, because he is still very good.

We absolutely need Vettel to stay in F1 next season and it would be great if Red Bull is prepared to take him back and pair him with Max, I can't wait to hear good news regarding Seb's move for 2021. They owe him a great deal for the time he drove for them and brought them 4 successive championships and at that time he was nurtured by the great team and they beat both Mercedes and Ferrari . Besides, Seb just loves the sport and and having a high salary is not crucial for him.

Pas une bonne idée, cela ferait des étincelles et des accrochages en piste, Max ne peut supporter que quelqu'un puisse être plus rapide.
