Jan.28 - Eight time world rally champion Sebastien Ogier says Lewis Hamilton was "robbed" of the 2021 Formula 1 crown.

Currently, the motor racing world is in the dark amid speculation Mercedes' Hamilton, 37, could suddenly quit the sport in protest of how the 2021 championship ended in high controversy.

"I think he will come back," Frenchman Ogier, the reigning world rally champion, told RMC.

"He is in an ultra-competitive environment with the best team of the moment. It must have been a very difficult situation for him," he said, referring to the dying moments of the Abu Dhabi finale.

"He really felt like he was robbed. And he was robbed - let's not be afraid to say that," Ogier added, explaining that Hamilton did everything he possibly could have done to beat Max Verstappen to the chequered flag.

"Although I have a lot of respect for Max and he had a great season, on that last weekend Lewis dominated the race and was in front all the way until the very end.

"Unfortunately for him, there was the famous safety car only a few laps from the finish. So whether it was one or the other, they are both great champions, but looking just at that weekend, it was theft.

"And that's very hard to swallow for Hamilton," Ogier, 38, said.

Totally robbed, no doubt Massi will be choking on his unlimited supply of Red Bull when he gets side lined, sacked in normal people's mind for plain cheating. Sorry MV but lets annul last years WDC

Do ANY of you HAMfans ever bother with data, statistics and facts? Yes, Abu Dhabi was a joke and Sir Lewis deserved the victory. BUT, if he had won it would have been VER who was robbed of the WDC. He had a far superior season to your hero. There was no robbery, only a just desert. Get over it.

Verstappen should hand back the title and Hamilton should not accept it!
In my eyes Verstappen will always be the "winner" by someone not involved in a team, which renders the win invalid. I.E. if a wheel changer screwed up and a wheel came off a car then the whole team fails - fair enough I say!
When the race controller under pressure from others and in the heat of the moment gets it wrong then the race should be re-run. But we have passed that point now.
Verstappen should hand the title back as it's worth is diminished, he would in my eyes gain more respect for his racing future. And, out of protest Hamilton should not accept it either, therefore rendering 2021 as championless!!
FIA need to own up and take responsibility for their own staff error.
If Verstappen gets, lets say 5 titles, then EVERYONE will say in the future "But did he really? that first title he got in 2021 was a bit dodgy!"

MS won 7 titles, but nobody ever says should really have been 6 because of 94, using your logic Lord Lewis would already have the record for WDCs

It's looking to me that our friend Peter Cook is confusing EVERYBODY with HIMSELF ONLY. Dozens of races and many world championships were decided on the luck of the moment, including several of Lewis' when he had the absolutely fastest car. Look up the 1964 season and tell me that Graham Hill should not have been world champion... But then Hill did not go into hiding to suck his thumb like Baby Lewis.

What is it exactly that the Peter Cooks of the world claim Max did wrong in Abu Dhabi? When the race re-started he just drove like a deserving champion. I don't remember Lewis ever giving ANYTHING back following any of the occasions when he drove others off the road, let alone when he lucked out, or when his teammate was forced out of the way by Toto and company.

If the roles had been reversed in Abu Dhabi are the Cook types seriously trying to suggest that Lewis would have given the title back? Give me a break!

To everybody, and also Peter Cook, here is what's happened in the 2021 season: somebody finally broke through with the ability to beat Lewis, others are coming, and that gave us nailbiter season. If Max had not been there, we would have had Mercedes parades, and most likely Lewis would have picked up another cheap championship.

Anyone who knows anything about F1 knows that Lewis was robbed of his eighth title. Not by Max he,s just doing what he has to to win but more by Red Bull,s lobbying of Massi who will end up the fall guy.
