Today the second testing sessions started for the 2013 F1 season. On this first day of 4 days testing all F1 teams got a change to test their new F1 cars on a real F1 battleground, the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona.

The weather conditions at Barcelona where not that good to have a good comparison for the upcoming Australian F1 GP. It's was only 13/17°C and partly clouded with a humidity of 71%. The track temperature was between 13/28°C

Before testing got underway the Williams F1 team revealed their 2013 F1 car: the Williams FW35. Pastor Maldonado made an impressive start with the just launched Williams FW35 and topped the timetable several times.

Fernando Alonso was also going strong during his first drive in the Ferrari F138 and drove 500 km. Past weeks he did some though physical training to get fit for the first race in Melbourne. He posted on twitter his training schedule: cycling 936 km, running 91 km, swimming 8 hours, fitness 7 hours and skiing, tennis & soccer for 14 hours. Ferrari and Fernando Alonso also presented their new UPS sponsor logo on the Ferrari F138 F1 car.

The day ended with the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg fastest ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. With only 0.349 sec between the top 4 fastest lap times.

The circuit de Catalunya lap record is set on 1:21.670 min by Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari F2008 back in 2008 Spanish F1 GP.
