Jun.14 - Lewis Hamilton has shot down speculation that he will be missing from the Canadian GP grid this weekend.

Toto Wolff indicated that a reserve driver - probably Nyck de Vries - will be on standby for the seven time world champion in Montreal due to his obvious back injury sustained in Sunday's Azerbaijan GP.

But Hamilton wrote on Instagram that despite having "trouble sleeping" on Sunday night, he is only "sore and bruised" and has no "serious" injury.

"I've had acupuncture and physio with (physio) Ang and am on the way to my team to work with them on improving. We have to keep fighting.

"No time like the present to pull together and we will. I'll be there this weekend - wouldn't miss it for the world," the 37-year-old insisted.

In fact, Auto Motor und Sport claims Hamilton did not even make an argument in the drivers' briefing at Baku about the need for rule changes to end the 'porpoising' phenomenon.

But Red Bull boss Christian Horner suggests Mercedes is simply "complaining" in order to push changes through.

"If it was a genuine safety concern across the whole grid then it is something that should be looked at," he said.

"But if it is only affecting isolated people or teams, then that is something that the team should potentially deal with."

Dr Helmut Marko revealed: "It doesn't seriously affect our drivers."

Nonetheless, the FIA is understood to be taking the complaints seriously and will talk not only to drivers but also the technical directors of the ten teams.

Quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel told Servus TV: "At some point there will be a big accident and then everyone will stand there and say 'We talked about it with the FIA'."

1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, however, thinks the correction Mercedes would need to make is simple - just raise the car's ride height.

"Mercedes obviously don't want to sacrifice the speed of the car," McLaren driver Lando Norris said.

"We could also add speed by lowering the car, but then we would have more problems with porpoising."

The "Most Heart-rending Exit From the Car Award" clearly goes to Dame Lucille. All part of the M-B push to make their problem, everyone's problem.

The FIA could introduce a whole new suite of regulations that could change the nature of all of the cars, not just address the bouncing issue. So be careful about what you wish for ....

And don't forget, Boi George set up his car differently, and didn't get the same beating Dame Lucille dialed-in. Corroborates who the better driver is.

It seems the Dame reference has reached ex f1 British drivers, with John Watson, who i think ws always underrated saying , he should stop playing the Pantomime Dame And just get on with it.... So Dame Lucy's popularity is bigger than we all thought...!!!!

Either fix the car and go slower or don’t, just move on with it. Hamilton has Angela, she does everything short of driving the car, maybe that’s next. I’m sure the team at the factory is thrilled that they built a s#*t b#x according to Toto. Thanks Toto for the pep talk. Does wonders?

Did Otot REALLY say "sh_t-box" in reference to the car? That's a jaw-droppingly stupid thing for a team-principle to say. I would expect him to do his usual spin-doctoring, not pan the damn thing.

In the meantime, I haven't seen Angy in the pits at all. Some tall-dark-and-handsome dude was the duty-sycophant at Baku. Hmmm.

Wow. The lack of compassion by people in this group is breathtaking. When he got out of that car, you could see he was suffering. I'm so embarrassed for all of you. The bile being spewed here is disgusting.

We win together, we lose together, and we talk crap together, the only thing Merc are suffering with is a whiny, underperforming ex wdc forced to play No 2 to King George, his latest fp1 and fp2 comments are comedic, but i guess you dont agree?

I expected more from this crowd. Obviously my respect was misplaced. Its a shame there are no discussions about racing in these comments. Just a bunch girley cat fights. You are an unimpressive lot.

Maybe but it's true, £40 million a year says he could afford a nice comfy corset unless he wears one already, he should use one without the bones cause they might hurt a lot. 😂 Lol.
