How the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP should’ve ended & the first race to end under SC neutralization since the 2019 Bahrain GP.
De Vries has been a Latifi replacement option for a while already, but now I'm convinced he's the prime favorite for replacing Latifi as a full-time driver for next season - also a deserved DOTD honor.
Ferrari tried, but the stop under VSC proved slightly hurried.
2020 Bahrain GP, I somehow managed to mix up the Bahrain GPs with an SC finish as both had.
My imagined way I would pick a driver is to luck out on the ones who are hot from the get-go à la (at the moment) Lando and George - go Nyck!
:-)
what a joke
how difficult is it to make a rule that if there's less than 5 laps to go and the safety car is out red flag the race - everyone restarts on current tires in running order with lapped cars dropping to the back of the train on the formation lap
this should've been in place 1 week after last years finale
also the safety car should be much slower while picking up the leader and letting cars catch the train and pick up the pace on the last lap to bring temps back up
while i'm ranting - add an extra 100km's to monza's race distance
Well said let's hope someone takes notice..
I disagree with you on effectively making different rules for the last few laps in any given race.
You are correct. A race order builds up over race duration. By re-starting a race and doing away with what the drivers have achieved during the whole race, you are providing an advantage to slower performers and taking away the efforts of the leaders.
Today Charles came second, that was the best he could do today and the safety car made no real difference except allowing his fans to go on and on with their rants. Today's race is also not likely to change anything to the eventual championship...
Max was something like 16 seconds ahead of Charles when the safety car came out and Charles could never have made that up.
You can re-write all races from each driver's point of view and that of their fans. I can easily show you an outcome by which Latifi would have won by at least a minute if he was a better driver and had a faster car and everybody got out of his way!!!
I say make the best rules possible, than live by them start to finish, but don't re-start races mid way.
Dead right, it’s a step to far and renders the race pointless. The only logical conclusion is that it allows F1 the ability to manipulate the races for maximum profit.
Is stopping under safety car allowed in other formula?
Yes, stopping under SC conditions is allowed in other Formula, or at least in F2, F3, Super Formula, & IndyCar.
F1 what a joke 🤷😩
Rb have just put out a statement , they want to re run the whole of this season , if only to inflict more emaressment on Fia,Dame, and Curly, plus they've offered to not take take part in at least 4 races, to give the others a fighting chance, finally there is a new award this year, the Team manager with the smuggest look on his face goes to.
Driver of the day, De Vries no doubt. I've been banging on about drivers like Latifi for too long now, how can they carry on when they know half the mechcanics are probably faster.
It sounds like some people want different rules for different parts of the race. Ridicules. That would turn into a free for all amongst the teams. Rules are all thought out way before the season starts. Not everyone will agree but that is life in general. Races should not be based on fans approval or disapproval, they are just spectators, myself included. If fans can’t live with this, there are other sporting events that they can watch and complain about.
Please remember
F1 = business = maximum profit = manipulation to maximise profit. Spectacle = more fans= more profit. Controversy = stronger fan interest ( everyone has to have an opinion). Bendy rules allow even greater manipulation= more profit. Who wins who cares, drivers are paid according to their ability to attract fans = profit, most of them are good enough to get the fastest car over the line first, the rest have fathers with giant egos and giant bank accounts.
I could go on but i’m Starting to bore myself and you lot, sorry.
Question.
If I can drive a big standard estate car capable of 155mph for 180,000 plus miles with little more than regular oil changes and no engine parts replaced and Le Mans cars can run for in excess of 24 hrs at speeds well over 200mph, can f1 cars really be that unreliable? Really!!!.
Ah, yes... Here we go. Ricciardo never broke down, he faked it and put his car in the way in the hope of giving Charles the opportunity to beat Max in revenge of his leaving RedBull thinking that he was the better driver and only ending up
ruining his own F1 carreer.
And actually, I never knew that absolutely all cars finished Le Mans and never broke down. As far as the big estate car going at 155mph for 180,000 plus, which one is that... Thanks.
Max was going to win that race no matter what, he was faster than everybody else back when he was on a tricycle, wasted zero time in Formula 2, which is the usual final resting ground of hordes of losers with rich daddies.
Give it up and Blo.
FF
I didn’t say all LeMans cars finish and My Bmw 330D is capable of 155 mph and has run reliably for over 180000 miles.
Question how long is the lemans 24hrs?
Approx 3200 miles or 24hrs
