Mar.15 - George Russell can imagine Lewis Hamilton as his continuing Mercedes teammate "for a few more years".

It is clear that, eventually, Toto Wolff sees the much younger Briton Russell as the ultimate successor to 38-year-old teammate Hamilton.

But although Hamilton and team boss Wolff are yet to reach a deal for a new contract for the seven time world champion, 25-year-old Russell thinks one will be signed.

When asked by the Dutch publication Formule 1 if Hamilton is his best ever teammate, Russell answered: "Easily.

Wolff says it's irrelevant that Russell beat Hamilton this F1 season

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell

"You notice in everything that he does that he still has that fire. I can certainly see him racing here for a few more years.

"The fact that last season was not great was a new challenge for him. It motivated him. But it doesn't stop me from wanting to beat him," he insists.

"I believe in myself. I am convinced that one day I can beat anyone."

And Russell insists that as long as Hamilton is in the other garage, that only pushes the team forwards.

"With someone like Lewis next to you, that learning process is so much faster. I had never experienced that until last season - being pushed like that by a teammate. Suddenly you see that the bar is much higher," he said.

"Then you also learn so much more about yourself. It makes you better, stronger, faster."

I don't think anyone can doubt Louise's ability in the cockpit, with 7 WDC's to her credit. It's Louise's foolish antics out of the car that bring discredit, scorn and disdain to her.
Time for Louise to retire to an Austin dealership in Puddletown!

Try to remember that most of the ‘foolish antics’ are dreamt up by the media and that far more ‘discredit, scorn and disdain’ is brought on some of the contributors on this site who actually live in Puddletown.
Sadly Lewis pays the penalty for being different and enormously successful.

Sir Lewy is only "enormously successful" because he's had the best car....as discussed previously MOST of the current Drivers would have achieved the same result if they had the same opportunity....his antics in F1 would not be tolerated in other sports !!!!

just a shame end of 21 ,she goes into hiding and has zero input into the new car and so the 22 car is shite, so if shed not been such a recluse and with all her expertise the 22 car wouldn't have been a dog (using Lucille Logic ) , so winter 22 , Lucy says look, i'm the greatest and this is what i need, and (she says) her team didn't listen, perhaps they didn't listen to her because shes never in the factory, i've no sympathy for Christian or Lulu, they've essentially brought this on themselves, i've said it before, Christian has done nothing prior to walking into Merc with an already championship winning car on the grid, so no experience of coming from behind, as for not listening to Lala, there are 2 drivers in that team not just Princess gaga, Now the media are openly saying when will Louise retire, thats funny , i've been saying that since 21, as for going to Ferrari, Why? Mercedes are the best aren't they? Never any interviews between the media IE the Sky Family and Lewises Husband-Blondie, whys that i wonder, I mean she gave him massages when his back was broken and he had concussion, she deserves more media time Imo, Blondie, Blondie, Blondie

Well yea it is what it is, loads a money and a world championship or just loads a money, either way with his lovely blond partner to keep him company and the knowledge that he beat Schumaker 3 -0 on track in spite of Schumakers dirty defending (warned twice) and vastly greater experience. Oh,and loads a money but of course you know all that.
