Carlos Sainz won his 4th F1 race at the 2024 Mexico F1 GP today. The Ferrari driver started from pole position and won on Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for the first time. It was his 2nd win of the season. The Scuderia Ferrari team scored their 248th race win today.

Sainz Secures Mexico City Victory for Ferrari
The 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix delivered an electrifying race with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz clinching a well-earned victory at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. From his pole position start, Sainz showcased a masterful performance, fighting off intense pressure from McLaren's Lando Norris and teammate Charles Leclerc. Home hero Sergio Perez endured a difficult day, struggling with car damage and multiple pit stops. After a rough race, Perez finished last, a disappointment for the thousands of fans who had come to see him shine on home soil.
Constructors' Championship Tightens Up
Ferrari’s impressive showing further tightened the constructors’ championship race. With this victory, they cut McLaren’s lead to just 29 points. Red Bull remains in a distant third. The season has taken an unexpected twist for the team that dominated in recent years.
Midfield Battles and Notable Moments
Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell kept the action alive in the middle pack, with Hamilton eventually finishing ahead in fourth after an intense battle with his teammate. Further back, rookie Franco Colapinto’s clash with Liam Lawson in the closing laps brought a late penalty, dropping the Argentine driver to 12th place.
Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri made up several positions after a challenging qualifying, recovering to eighth by race end. For Alpine, Pierre Gasly continued to chase points but struggled to maintain his early pace.

Max is like those great champions Senna and Schumacher, very aggressive driving when the title is on the line.
He needs to think more strategically. Let Norris go if he is not fast enough to keep him behind, but try to finish as close to him as possible to minimise the points loss.
He can lose 10 points per race for the next 4 races and still win the title but he wouldn't really risk it coming down to that.
If Norris can't win but comes second he needs to try to finish 3rd or 4th so that he only loses a maximum of 6 points if finishing 4th, disregarding fastest lap and the sprint races.
If he finishes 3rd or 4th in the sprint races and Norris finishes 2nd would only lose 2 points in finishing 4th.
The Ferrari's are looking good for victories with their pace. Bad news for Norris.
The last two races, have been very poor for Lando, only having reduced Maxes points advantage by 5.
The title is NOT on the line. Nor is it aggressive driving, it's dirty and he's getting penalties and other drivers think he needs to reign it in.
MV is behaving like a spoilt child and I'm looking forward to when he gets a decent team mate, although it probably won't be in a RB.

Max returned to his former self once again. The latter one was definitely a red mist moment because Lando didn’t let him by.
Checo also acted like an idiot (If anything, he’d be better off quitting with immediate effect as he’s clearly lost), calling Lawson an idiot even though he simply raced hard to show he’s worthy of a promotion.
Colapinto unnecessarily caused front-wing damage, though, & unnecessarily many cases of forcing off track at T4 & T1 with Max on the opening lap, which was also clearly intentional.
Suddenly many drivers lost their abilities to race cleanly for this one race.
