keke-rosbergNico Rosberg has passed a personal milestone after winning his 6th Formula One race in Austria yesterday. He now has one more career win then his father, Keke Rosberg, who drove in the 1980’s for teams such as Williams.

Nico may not have been the fastest driver in Austria but he used track position smartly to pit at the right time and take the lead. His third victory of the season sees him stretch his world championship advantage to 29 points over his team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

But until he manages to clinch a world crown, Keke will always have the bragging rights over his son after he became world champion in 1982. Nico’s 6th career win moves him higher on the all-time list and puts him level with other greats such as Gilles Villeneuve, Riccardo Patrese and 1970 world champion Jochen Rindt.

However, as he starts to banish the tag of being the son of an ex-champion it won’t be long until the German starts to climb even higher on the all-time lists.
