Bianchi remains critical but stable
Jules Bianchi remains in a “critical but stable” condition in hospital, nearly a month after his crash in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Marussia driver suffered severe head injuries when he skidded off the track and into a recovery truck.
He had emergency surgery at the local Mie General Hospital, where he is still being treated.
His family said that the 25-year-old “continues to fight”.
In a statement, they said: “Although we have no new info to give, we recognise that there are a huge number of people all around the world who are supporting Jules and willing him on in this fight.”
“We owe it to his many fans to acknowledge the continued outpouring of messages, and to provide some information, however brief it may be.”
The family confirmed that Bianchi will be staying in Yokkaichi, after his father suggested he may be moved to Tokyo.
The Frenchman has scored two points this season.
