Lotus has finally announced that Romain Grosjean will remain with the team for 2015.

The Frenchman has been with the team since 2011 and has grown stronger as his career has progressed.

It was widely expected that he would stay with the mid-table outfit after he tweeted a few days ago saying he was staying. The tweet was hastily removed.

The 28-year-old has had a hard season though and has accumulated just eight points as Lotus has languished towards the back of the field.

Grosjean has been visibly frustrated but next season should see a marked improvement from the car as they switch to Mercedes powered engines.

He said: “It’s no secret that we’ve had a really tough season this year, but the team has remained focused and we’re determined to return to regular points-scoring in 2015.”

Grosjean will be partnered by Pastor Maldonado.
