McLaren delay decision for up to a week
McLaren are not expected to announce any news regarding their 2015 driver line-up until next week at the earliest, reports say.
Yesterday’s board meeting, where the decision was expected to be made, ended without an announcement.
Fernando Alonso is set to re-sign for the team, but it is the identity of his team-mate which remains a mystery as current drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen wait to learn which of them will stay.
The confusion may surround the future of the team, with Ron Dennis trying to raise money in order to buy shares. If he becomes the majority shareholder he can do as he pleases as opposed to being one of a number of executives who have a say.
McLaren are re-establishing their relationship with Honda next season as they try and return to the top of the sport quickly. They finished fifth in the Constructors Championship, and scored just two podiums in 2014.
