Manor Formula 1 team has agreed a deal that will see them use Ferrari’s 2014 engines this season.

Manor, formerly known as Marussia, entered administration last season but they announced earlier this week that they intend to race in 2015.

One of their biggest challenges, amongst many, was securing an engine supplier, especially as Ferrari was owed millions of pounds when the team folded.

However, it seems that the Italian giants have agreed to lend Manor their 2014 engines.

Team boss Maurizio Arrivabene told reporters: “We said to them yesterday that we are going to supply them with the 2014 engine. There is nothing in writing at the moment.”

The team will not be able to use an updated version of their 2014 car, as the rules have since changed.

But they intend to build a fresh new car, and hope to be competing in Australia at the opening round of the championship next month.

As long as the team are racing by the fourth round of the season in Bahrain, they will be entitled to the £30m in prize money that the earned as Marussia last year.
