Can anyone stop Lewis Hamilton in his pursuit of his fourth title in China?
This week we head to Shanghai for our Formula One fix, a circuit that has proved to be extremely rewarding for Lewis Hamilton in the past.
The Englishman has won in China three times since his first win back in 2008. The latest of which came last year, where he won convincingly ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg. With a lot of winning experience on this track, Hamilton will unquestionably be the favourite going into the event this weekend.
Lewis has started this season where he finished off last year, cruising to victory in his first race in Melbourne, before finishing second in Malaysia. So it looks ominous for the rest of the field heading to China. It is unlikely that Mercedes will lose that top spot for a second week in a row, and that narrow loss to Sebastian Vettel in Kuala Lumpur will make Lewis even more determined than usual.
If he gets pole in qualifying, it is hard to see how anyone can stop him this weekend, on a course where he has been so successful.
For a safe bet, stake a good amount on Lewis Hamilton to pick up his fourth title in Shanghai at 8/11 on Totesport. Bets like this contain far less risk than playing fruit machines games where the odds are stacked in favour of the house. Sites like provide hundreds of different pub slots, but the safer bet is to opt for Hamilton to emerge victorious in China.
Another worthwhile bet could well come from the Ferrari garage again this weekend. Sebastian Vettel’s triumph in Malaysia came as a massive shock in Formula One and people are really starting to sit up and take Ferrari seriously.
Whilst it is hard to see them challenging again this week for overall glory, there is a strong possibility that one of their cars will finish in third place. Vettel has started the better of the two drivers at Ferrari so far this campaign, a statistic that Kimi Raikkonen will be determined to change.
Kimi has been left in Seb’s shadows since the season started and that could well suit him going into Shanghai. Expect a strong performance from the Finn this weekend, who stands a great chance of getting up on that podium. A closely fought race, where Kimi can use all his experience and tactical awareness on this circuit, will suit him down to the ground in Shanghai.
Back Kimi to finish on the podium at 11/5 on Bwin.
