Hamilton edges Rosberg to Chinese pole
Lewis Hamilton marginally beat Nico Rosberg to take pole position for tomorrow's Chinese Grand Prix.
The defending world champion had the edge on his team-mate all weekend, and his time of 1:35.782 was enough to secure his third straight pole of the season.
Rosberg almost piped him on his last run, but he fell just 0.042s short.
Sebastian Vettel will line up third for Ferrari, and will expect to challenge Mercedes in the race tomorrow.
Felipe Massa did a fine job to qualify fourth ahead of his Williams team-mate Valtteri Bottas, while Vettel's team-mate, Kimi Raikkonen, will start sixth.
Daniel Ricciardo starts seventh for Red Bull, but his team-mate, Daniil Kvyat, struggled and will start 12th.
Neither Toro Rosso made it into Q3, as Max Verstappen finished 14th and Carlos Sainz 15th.
McLaren suffered more disappointment, as both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso failed to progress beyond the first session.
Button will start the race in 17th, with Alonso in 18th.
