Event: [Turkey Grand Prix](https://www.f1-fansite.com/f1-calendar/turkey-grand-prix-f1-race-information/) Track: [Istanbul Park](https://www.f1-fansite.com/f1-circuits/istanbul-park-circuit/) Weather: dry, warm, sunny **Lewis HAMILTON won his 12th F1 World Championship race at the 2010 Turkey F1 GP, inheriting the lead after a race-defining collision between the Red Bull teammates. The McLaren driver started second and won at Istanbul Park by 2.645 seconds from teammate Jenson Button for a McLaren 1-2. It was McLarens 163rd F1 win.** ## Webber pole, Red Bull front-row again Istanbul Park on 30 May 2010 saw Mark Webber take his third consecutive pole with a 1:26.295 lap, Hamilton second by 0.138 for McLaren, Vettel third, Button fourth. Red Bulls chassis pace remained the reference; McLaren the closest challengers. ## Race day: Vettel and Webber collide at Turn 12 Webber led Vettel through the pit stops, but on lap 40 Vettel drew alongside his teammate down the back straight and dived up the inside at Turn 12. Vettels front wing clipped Webbers left front wheel, spinning Vettel out on the spot and puncturing Webbers front tyre. Vettel retired; Webber limped in for repairs and eventually salvaged third. Hamilton and Button inherited a McLaren 1-2, the pair swapping the lead momentarily before Button conceded on team instruction. Schumacher fourth for Mercedes GP, Rosberg fifth, Kubica sixth for Renault. Petrov set the fastest lap on lap 57 at 1:29.165. The Red Bull post-race atmosphere was reported as poisonous; Vettel blamed Webber, the team publicly blamed Vettel. ## Championship: Webber 93, Button 88, Hamilton 84 Webber still led the standings despite the collision, McLaren swept 25 & 18 points and now had both drivers in the top four.
