Ferrari 248 F1 car

Ferrari's F1 car for 2006

The Ferrari 248 F1 car was introduced by the Italian team for the 2006 Formula One season. The car was a major step forward for Ferrari, featuring a longer wheelbase and improved aerodynamics compared to its predecessor, the 2005 Ferrari F2005.

The 248 F1 was powered by a 2.4-liter V8 engine, which produced around 740 horsepower. The car was designed by Aldo Costa and Rory Byrne, and it featured a distinctive red and white livery.

Ferrari had high hopes for the 248 F1, and the car did not disappoint. In the hands of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher and his teammate, Felipe Massa, the 248 F1 proved to be a highly competitive machine.

The car made its debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where Schumacher qualified on pole position and went on to win the race. Massa also had a strong race, finishing fourth.

Throughout the season, the 248 F1 proved to be a consistent performer, with Schumacher winning six races and Massa taking two victories. The car also helped Ferrari secure the constructors' championship for the 2006 season.

One of the most memorable races of the season for the 248 F1 was the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Schumacher, who had announced his retirement at the end of the race, started from pole position and went on to win the race in front of a home crowd, in what was a fitting farewell to the legendary driver.
