Mick Schumacher began his career in karting in 2008. In 2011 and 2012 he drove in the KF3 class of the ADAC Kart Masters, ending in 9th and 7th respectively. In the Euro Wintercup of the KF3 class he was 3rd in 2011 and 2012 and in 2012 was 3rd in the KF3 Rating DMV Kart Championship.
In 2013 he finished 3rd in the German Junior Kart Championship, and the CIK‐FIA Super Cup KF juniors. In 2014 Mick started in International and National Junior Championships, ending the season 2nd in the World and European as well as in the German Junior Kart Championship.
In 2015 Mick moved to formula classes for the first time, racing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship, ending the season 10th with 1 win and 2 podiums. In 2016 he switched to Prema Powerteam for another year in Formula 4, competing in both the German and the Italian championships and finishing both series as 2nd in the overall standings.
From 2017, Mick was driving with Prema in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. With 8 victories, Mick became FIA European Formula 3 Champion in 2018.
In 2019 Mick made his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. With the Italian team Prema Racing he won a race and finished 12th overall with 53 points.
In 2020 Mick again competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Prema Racing and might win the championship.
After months of rumours around his debut into Formula 1 the new broke on the 2nd of December. On that day the Haas F1 team announced that the son of the 7 times WC Michael Schumacher will debut in 2021 as Haas driver.
In his debut season in Formula 1, Schumacher was clearly ahead of his Haas teammate Nikita Mazepin in qualifying (19-3) and in the races (16-6).
In the 31st start of his F1 career, Mick Schumacher scored points for the first time in his trajectory in the series.
He finished eighth in the 2022 British Grand Prix on 1 July 2022. However, he only had to wait for a week before scoring points again, as he finished sixth in the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix after a fantastic weekend that showed great racecraft and pace from the German.
After two years and 43 races with Haas, the American team decided to go in a different direction for 2023 and sacked Schumacher in favor of another German, veteran driver Nico Hulkenberg.
After his departure from Haas, announced on November 2022, Schumacher's career was in danger. However, Mercedes came in on 15 December 2022 and announced Schumacher as the team's reserve driver from 2023 on.
In 43 races with Haas, Schumacher scored points twice, at the 2022 British and 2022 Austrian Grands Prix. Mick finished eighth at Silverstone for his first point-scoring finish in Formula 1 and followed it up with a tremendous sixth place at the Red Bull Ring the following week.
