Hamilton excited by Mercedes potential

Lewis Hamilton says he can’t wait to crank his new Mercedes up to the max as pre-season testing continues in Barcelona.

The three-time world champion is the title favourite again, and Mercedes seem to have produced another excellent car for he and Nico Rosberg to drive.

The reliability has been faultless so far, and Hamilton is now turning his thoughts towards its speed.

"We still have to unlock it," Hamilton said of the performance.

"The set-up requirements are different this year and maybe also with these tyres in terms of how you make them last.

"I'm just waiting for the day we have more tyres, we get to do the supersoft and to start unleashing it and see how it goes.

“I actually prefer those test days because then you can go out, find what the car is like and then come back and make some set-up changes."
