Today the 2019 F1 calendar was announced with 21 races on it. The schedule still has to be officially approved by the FIA, but that seems to be just a formality.

The rumours about 3 new races in Vietnam, Miami and Argentina didn't make it yet to the new calendar of next year and all races of this years season will also be held next year.

The 2019 F1 season starts on the 17th of March in Melbourne. The season ends for the first time in the month December in Abu Dhabi.

The Grand Prix of China will be a special race because it will be Grand Prix number 1.000 since the frist race in 1950.

The triple header of 2018 will not return next season. There will be 2 back to back weekends. The frist back to back races are France and Austria. The second back to back race weekends are Singapore and Russia.

Another difference is that the US GP has swapped with the Mexican GP.

Suzuka and Spa-Francorchamps have renewed their contract. Suzuka signed a contract for 3 years a few days ago. They both now have an agreement until the end of 2021.

The Hockenheimring only has a contract for 2019. The Hockenheim deal was possible with the backing of the federal minister of transportation, several German automobile clubs and Mercedes, who will be next years title sponsor of the event.

The draft schedule for 2019 will be:

  1. March 17 - Australia
