Adrian Newey's wife fed up with toxic F1 'journalist'
Nov.4 - Even family members are now wading into the campaign of derision aimed at Red Bull in the wake of the budget cap controversy.
Matthew Syed, a journalist for the major British newspaper The Times, lashed out at the energy drink-owned team after the Mexican GP, insisting Lewis Hamilton was "robbed" of the 2021 title.
He also called Christian Horner "delusional", "graceless", and "a loser", and slammed the Red Bull team boss for claiming team members' children were bullied at school over the budget cap saga.

Syed accused Horner of using "bullying and mental health to deflect from his own rule-breaking".
"If there are mental health issues at Red Bull as a result of their rule breach, the responsibility lies with them and them alone - not with those who have criticised them," he said.
Amanda Newey, the wife of famous Red Bull technical boss Adrian Newey, hit back hard at Syed on social media before apparently deleting the post.
"What qualifies you to judge me, my husband or any member or family member of Red Bull's mental state?" she asked Syed.
"When you get a year of abuse and you don't even work for the team, it wears you down. Provoking the fans with toxic journalism adds to the problem," Amanda, an 'insight officer' for Swim England, said.
Despite Red Bull and Max Verstappen's dominant success in 2022, it has been a notably tumultuous period for the Milton Keynes-based Formula 1 team.
For instance, the finalisation of the team's budget cap penalties were initially delayed for the death of Red Bull owner and founder Dietrich Mateschitz.
"There is a lot happening in Red Bull now in strategic and political terms," Dr Helmut Marko admits.
"There are issues that need to be clarified within the company in connection with the death of Dietrich Mateschitz, but this should not affect the sports component.
"Nothing has changed for the team," the 79-year-old Austrian insists. "We are preparing to win the remaining two races and judging by the speed and reliability that we have demonstrated recently, we have a good chance."

The term journalist is over used these days. Better choice would “opinionators”. In the big scheme of things, their opinions are no more or less valid than anyone else, except they get paid big salaries which is suppose to mean more, I guess, IMO.

This could all backfire. I watch F1 because it is one of the most exciting sports more technical and more complex than most sports. It is helpful to hear from experienced professionals explain the complexities and subtitles of the sport. I really don’t care about opinions, thoughts and anything else talked about from commentators. They are paid to do a job not share their opinions. If this gets out of hand, maybe less viewers, less revenue.
Susan, I am afraid that you give the fans far too much credit. No matter the subject focus, sensationalism sells product and the public eats it up.

Id expect papers more like the Sun , or Mirror to be full of crap like this, BUT the Times....... Very unBritish but heh its fair game, i've said it before, Best and Worst press in Europe, and i'm not bragging but its the Brit press, a recent example was comparing a Lettuce to Liz Truss PM, I think it was the Sun and they said which will last longer?
Syed is clearly what is called within the news industry a "gutter journalist". I have a friend who is a political journalist for a major newspaper, and he says that sports journalists in general bring the practice of journalism into disrepute.
However, sensationalism such as the drivel espoused by Syed creates reader interest and sells papers! Proof of that is the fact that so many people are commenting on the item. No matter what we think of Syed, that he is an absolute ar_ehole, he has done what the newspaper pays him to do!
Can't see that telling the truth is a problem. Obviously it hit home expressing the same view as a lot of fans and other teams.Have cut Sky out as well. There are a number of countries that have followed this process killing free speech and they are not friendly places.
Ok , I haven't researched it but, hes a journo for the Times, did he write this in the Times or on Twitter, because he writes in lots of places for lots of employers, the above article doesn't ACTUALLY say... either way it doesn't matter The times isn't a paper known for its huge f1 following, so like Smokey says hes doing what his Boss pays him to do, help sell papers, half the posters on here probably know more about f1 than he does..Boring
