Alexander Albon has admitted he is a "practicing Buddhist".

Although he was born and lives in London and has a British accent, the Toro Rosso driver has a Thai mother and he races under the flag of Thailand.

"I think a lot of people in Thailand don't know they have a Formula 1 driver," he laughed to the Dutch publication Formule 1.

Albon, 23, even admits he actively subscribes to the major religion of Thailand, which is Buddhism.

"I go to the temple for every race weekend," he revealed.

"There is one in Wimbledon that I go to as often as I can," Albon added. "The sessions are a symbol of peace and happiness for me.

"We sing songs and use holy water. In that respect it looks a lot like Catholicism. I believe in doctrine, meditation and mindset.

"I feel that Buddhism is right for me. It gives me peace and helps me in a stressful race weekend."

    Read between the lines!

How disclosing and both publishing and publicising this information helps Formula is beyond me. If the sport needs to be sensationalized in this way you know it's close to hitting the bottom.

America is wallowing in "identity politics," which has ruined both the civil and political discourse in that country.

If there is any spontaneous and intuitive decency in something just hand it over to the Anglo-Saxons. They'll make sure they f*****k it up.

In Lewis Hamilton they have now railroaded the sport into "identity racing."
So, instead of rejoicing in having a successful, top-notch, British driver who is black, we have A BLACK DRIVER. Whenever something is said about him everybody walks like on egg-shells for fear of offending someone.

We now add to that a talented young driver who happens to be Buddhist, and is turned into a Buddhist driver.

Identity Formula Racing is off to a robust start.

How ignorant is that!! This writer should stick to something he knows at least a modicum knowledge.

And just see the opening sentence:

"Alexander Albon has admitted he is a "practicing Buddhist"."

Is Buddhism persecuted and illegal in London?
Was the admission obtained through torture?
