According the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Maurizio Arrivabene is ousted by Ferrari technical director Mattia Binotto.

The article says that the contract of the former Scuderia Ferrari team principle wasn't renewed for 2019 by the battled Italian team and expired at the end of last year.

It wasn't a secret that Arrivabene and Binotto were not getting along very well and had a lot of arguments about strategic choices and car development.

After becoming 2nd in the championship again. the Ferrari management wanted to keep Binotto instead of Arrivabene. Rumours say that the Italian technical director already received offers from the Mercedes and Renault F1 teams. Ferrari wanted to keep their successful technical director, who at last got the Ferrari F1 car back up to speed as title contender.

The Binotto team had produced a championship winning car in 2017 and 2018, but errors in the Scuderia racing team on strategy and tyre choices had a big effect on the outcome of 2018.

After the death of Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne a lot changed after the hasty call for the new CEO Louis Camilleri. Mister Camilleri already was the boss of Arrivabene when he was head of marketing at Philip Morris. We don't know if this was in favor of Arrivabene.

It looks like Arrivabene is getting the blame for losing the championship in the second half of last years exciting F1 season. This also happened in 2017, but in the end Arrivabene could get away with it to try it another season.

This 2019 F1 season Mattia Binotto will get the honour and pressure of winning the title after 10 season without any title win in Formula 1. At this moment it's unclear who will replace Binotto as technical director in Maranello.

Somebody needs to bring a fresh zest into the Ferrari this year and that means blood transfusion to restart the heart of the Prancing horse in order get him over the fences which he failed to conquer in the last season. Surely this year is to be or not to be for the Ferrari challenge!

That Vettel is a really good driver is not new to anyone, but we cannot forget that he won his titles when driving the best car combination in his time, and when things changed... If the Arrivabene Binotto situation is confirmed, Binotto will start his time with a problem in hands. Vettel will be looking for the title, but has a lot of pressure in his back, and newcomer LeClerck has nothing to loose to try to grabb it, and sure he will try. LeC is a good driver, young, and will have (we hope) a good car in his hands. To whom the car will suit better we will find out when the tests start, but will be fun to watch, and possibly a headache to whonever manages the team.
