Mercedes had fitted their W04 F1 car with the latest developed items today. Lewis Hamilton gave it his best and was the quickest combination today. He was more then a second faster then the official lap record set by Kimi Raikkonen in 2008. Mercedes made quite an impression today, after they showed their competitors that the Mercedes W04 was more than 2 seconds faster then earlier this week.

Second fastest was the Ferrari F138 with driver Felipe Massa behind the wheel. Ferrari also made much progress and Masas managed to drive the fastest lap for Ferrari this winter testing today. Fernando Alonso's fastest time was set on the 3rd day of practice at Catalunya circuit. His fastest lap time was 1:21.875. Massa drove 0.609 s faster then his Spanish teammate.

3rd fastest was F1 comeback driver Sutil in the Force India VJM06. Also showed a lot of speed and kept the two Williams driver behind him.

Position 4 to 8 where all in 1 second and very close...
