Mattia Binotto is no longer Ferrari's technical director.

With the ousting of Maurizio Arrivabene, Binotto was promoted from technical boss to also become the famous Maranello team's new team principal in 2019.

But some expressed doubts about whether the Italian could handle the dual role.

Speed Week now reports that the technical director job has actually been split into three new roles.

Now, Enrico Cardile (suspension), David Sanchez (aero) and Corrado Iotti (engine) all report to Binotto.

Simone Resta will then return from his role at Alfa Romeo to head the 2021 car project.

"Since I was appointed team principal, we reorganised things internally because I had to be supported especially on the technical side," said Binotto.

"It's not the same team anymore and it's not entirely true that I have a dual role."

Ahhh the Italian way ....if it doesn't work then re- design it making it 3 times more complicated and 3 times more vulnerable ...doomed to fail !!!

Makes sense, should mean more focus and forward planning. Binotto won't have to be the only grown up taking all the blame.

It seems to me that Ferarri has been in disarray ever since Michael
Schumacher left, just goes to prove what happens when the best in the world can't be replaced.

F1 needs to get back to racing, like how it was in the 80s 90s and the end of the 2000s. Get rid of the just one tire manufacturer and bring back Bridgstone and Goodyear.to compete with Pirelli. No one goes to a racer to see fired. Design card that can race nose to tail in a draft again. No one wants to see passing in the pits. Bring back the sand traps as well to stop the driving off track to gain an advantage. I take trains I don't want to watch one.
