Mattia Binotto has indicated Ferrari will definitely head into the 2020 season with the same drivers.

Recently, there have been rumours that suggest Vettel, whose career according to Mark Webber is at "the crossroads", could retire or be ousted.

Not just that, the combination of Vettel and the younger Charles Leclerc has the potential to be fiery, but team boss Binotto insists managing them is actually "one of the simplest parts of my job".

"They are full professionals who know exactly how to behave," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Everyone acts in their own interest, of course, but they are aware that we put the Scuderia, not the driver, first," Binotto added.

And so Binotto indicated that Vettel and Leclerc are staying put for 2020.

"In Sebastian I see a serene, willing Formula 1 driver," he said.

"Apart from the mistake in the fight against Hamilton in Bahrain, he drives more solidly than in 2018. I am satisfied with him.

"Perhaps he understood last year that if the car does not allow more than fifth, then he must drove home in fifth place."

As for Leclerc, Binotto said: "Charles is a fighter.

"In Baku he made a mistake in qualifying, and in Monaco he should have been more patient behind Hulkenberg. But he gets better and better, also with the engineers.

"He shows a great willingness to learn and is aware of his potential. I expect great races from him," said the Italian.

Vettel should be replaced. He blown two titles already. how many more must he blow before the team learn that he is a liability.

We have seen Ferarri hang on to Kimi far too long. SThey are similarly hanging on to Vettel for no good reason. We have seen a raw, young rookie like Le Clerc do much better than Kimi has ever done, and he has shown himself to be better than Vettel. Now Ferrari need to replace Vettel with somebody better,
Had Ferrari had a better drivers, they would have won the championship the last two years, also be in a better position this year.

"...."Ferrari has no strategy, no good car, they are actually not doing anything right at the moment," Rosberg added...."

Once bitten twice shy! Why would Ferrari want Ricciardo? Vettel is a World Champion 4 times over, came from RB, and you think he should go. Why would another RB driver who never won Championship be an improvement? I don't get it.

Ricciardo beats Vettel when they are team mate, u don’t know that? Very obvious n easy answer. Sometimes wc title doesn’t guarantee u are the best driver in the grid, just timing.

Yes. How come you are quiet about Daniil Kvyat handily beating Daniel Ricciardo when they were team-mates. That didn't stop the RB and TR from demoting and then firing Kvyat.

I like your response Simon, as I think Vettel is doing as much as he can to improve the results and Ferrari needs to correct the faults with their current cars so both the drivers can challenge the Mercedes and certainly swapping Seb for another driver would not mean they will achieve any better results this season and we know that Vettel is more than capable or winning again.

    • Simon Saivil

Nick, your propter hoc ergo hoc argument may be - coincidentally - right. However, there is no evidence to support your line of reasoning.

You will remember that after Vettel left Kvyat became Ricciardo's team-mate and he handily beat Ricciardo. That didn't stop the RB and TR from both demoting and then firing Kvyat.
