Williams driver Valtteri Bottas has said that he is feeling good about the 2015 season, after an encouraging start to pre-season testing.

Williams had a quiet test, but they showed last season that when they go about their work discreetly they often end up being very fast.

And Bottas told F1.com that the car is in good shape: “I can say it is a very good starting point for us right now. The car has been reliable and felt pretty good. Sure there is still a long way to go, but I am sure that goes for everybody up and down the pit lane.”

He later added, “My gut feeling is that it’s going to be a good year. I am pretty upbeat because I see that they are making the right calls in this team.”

Bottas hopes that they can pick up where they left off last season and fight for podiums, but he clearly has his eye on race wins at some point this season.

“If we could start the season at the level we finished last year that would be really good. I know that we are capable of still improving a lot, so if we could start at a good level I would be happy at the beginning of the season to fight for podiums - and then later on challenge for wins.”

Bottas joined Williams in 2013.
