Jenson Button has said that he is considering other challenges in motorsport, as rumours of his probable exit begin to swirl.
McLaren are due to replace Button with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso for next season and retain Kevin Magnussen alongside him.
This is despite the fact that Button has scored almost double the number of points Magnussen has this year. But, at 22, the Dane is seen as a long-term option.

Of his future, Button said: “It’s been going for months now. Initially, I was like ‘ok what’s all that about’. But then it makes you think about other opportunities and challenges in F1 and other motorsport.”
“There’s so much out there, so many challenges I am interested in taking on.”
The former champion also said that he doesn’t know if he would accept an offer from McLaren, if they tried to keep him for next year.
Button is believed to be considering a switch to SportsCars with Porsche.
