Button hopes to copy Ferrari success
Jenson Button has said that McLaren are aiming to emulate Ferrari’s success from 2015.
The Italian team had a dismal year in 2014 but came back strongly last season to win three races and finish second in the Constructors Standings.
McLaren had an embarrassing season which saw them struggle at the back of the grid, but Button believes his team can take comfort from Ferrari’s improvement.
"It was great to see them [Ferrari] pick up the pace," he said.
"I heard rumours they found a hundred horsepower over the winter. I don't know if that's true or not.
"But whatever they found, it was massive and they took the fight to Mercedes on many occasions. It was good to see.
"Obviously we need to make even bigger steps if we want to achieve that, but it can be done over a winter."
Ferrari are expected to fight Mercedes for the world championship in 2016, with Sebastian Vettel sounding supremely confident.
