Caterham in talks with three parties
Caterham say that they are still in talks with three interested parties, as they look to secure the team’s future.
Caterham entered administration in October after a turbulent financial year, and missed Grand Prix’s in both Austin and Brazil. And, along with Marussia, were not expected to return to the sport.
Whereas Marussia’s future looks bleak, there is some hope for Caterham who held talks with two parties at the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi.
Joint administrator Harvey Shinners told BBC Sport: “We want to give the team every chance of surviving so we are not setting a deadline.
Shinners did admit that the risk of buying the team is increasing as some of the 230 redundant staff has gone on to find new jobs.
Formula 1 has already given the team special permission to use last season’s car, meaning any new potential owner wouldn’t have to pay for a 2015 car to be built and developed, although they would be the slowest car on the grid by some margin.
