Max Chilton is being heavily linked with Caterham ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Chilton’s team, Marussia, followed Caterham into administration last month but, unlike their opponents, they don’t appear to have survived for one more race.

Caterham have confirmed that lead driver Kamui Kobayashi will drive for them in the Desert but second driver Marcus Ericsson terminated his contract last week.

This has left Caterham with a driver to find and reports suggest they have turned their attention to the well-backed Englishman.

Chilton has been with Marussia for the past two seasons and it thought to have some strong financial support.

Other drivers linked include Andre Lotterer and Roberto Mehri.
