Charles Leclerc is "calm" even though he is making big waves at Ferrari.

That is the view of former F1 driver Christian Danner, referring to how Leclerc is being backed by the Italian press as the Ferrari number 1 of the future.

The 21-year-old was moved aside for Sebastian Vettel in China, and was obviously angry afterwards.

"Charles is too intelligent to make any sort of fuss right now," Danner told Sport Bild.

"He stays calm. He makes himself felt, but without spreading any kind of bad mood in the team."

Dr Helmut Marko brought Vettel into F1 some years ago, and so he was asked if Ferrari should now consider making Leclerc the new number 1.

"Let's wait and see," the Red Bull chief said. "It's still very early in the season."
