Nov.1 - Daniil Kvyat has slammed the strict enforcement of 'track limits' this weekend as Imola makes an otherwise highly popular return to Formula 1.

"Jesus Christ! We don't need white lines, we just need old-school gravel. Then we can get rid of this bulls**t," the Russian driver is quoted by Sport1.

Many drivers have had lap times deleted so far this weekend after being deemed to have gone beyond the delineated limits of the circuit.

"It really annoys me because it kills motorsport," AlphaTauri's Kvyat continued. "And it also kills such a great track. That's my problem with it."

He said a better solution to enforcing the limits this weekend would be to simply allow the drivers to drive "without this 'don't drive over the white line' s**t".

Red Bull's Alex Albon also admitted his frustration at Imola.

"It is annoying that there are different rules for different corners," he said.

However, Pierre Gasly said the topic at Imola is nothing new.

"It's always the same topic. We have the same discussion every time," said the Frenchman.

"The most important thing is that we know what we are allowed to do and what we are not allowed to do. We have to know. Then we play with the limits that we have."

I agree. Total waste of time. Officials trying to make themselves more important than the drivers and the race. Pathetic bureaucracy showing nothing better to do. Next will be sensors on the tyres to check how much over the line and deduct time to suit. What else could we do to fill in time!!

There is no consistency from the stewards! Track limits are the white line at the edge of the track and all cars should be made to race within those lines, not the curb or astroturf or anything else. Believe me, the drivers would not go beyond the lines if there was not an advantage to be gained. Inforce track limits on all circuits at all times All four wheels inside the white line at all times afterall if there was a wall There they couldn't do it!
