Dec.15 - Bernie Ecclestone has admitted he could slide back into an influential position in Formula 1.

The 91-year-old lost his role as long-time F1 CEO when Liberty Media took over the sport, and since then has focused on helping his wife Fabiana bring up their first child.

But 44-year-old Fabiana Ecclestone, a former Brazilian GP executive, is now linked with the FIA presidential campaign of Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Sulayem this week goes head-to-head with Graham Stoker in their bid to be elected to replace the departing FIA president Jean Todt.

We reported in October that Fabiana stands to become an FIA vice president for South America in the event that Sulayem wins the election.

"It's true," Bernie told Germany's Sport1.

"My wife is on his team. And as a good husband, I will be at her and her friends' side with help and advice.

"We'll see," Ecclestone added.

Certainly did do the cheating job well, but now finding out cheats don't prosper as it'll cost him his job, although he'll get Red Bull for life, which is actually worse thinking about it.

    Lord Help us...lol

Mohammed Ben Sulayem has reportedly been elected to succeed Jean Todt as president of the FIA, with the Frenchman having left after his third term in office.

Ben Sulayem, a 14-time Middle East Rally champion, has served as a vice president in the organisation since 2008 and has sat on the World Motorsport Council for the last 13 years.

He beat current deputy president Graham Stoker to the role with a reported 62% of the vote at the meeting of the FIA General Assembly on Friday morning, having announced his candidacy earlier in the year.

More 62% of the brown envelopes stuffed with oil $$ swung it for him, or am i wayyyy to cynical

What Eccles is actually saying is that nepotism is alive and well in the governing body! Look after your mates at whatever the cost.
What a disgusting person Eccles is, and well past his use by date! Hasn't he done enough damage to F1 already! Can someone take a contract out on him? We don't need his interference any longer.
