Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene says he is happy with how the team performed in Italy despite seeing both cars crash in the first corner.

Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel were second and third as they entered Turn 1 but Max Verstappen made contact with Raikkonen and knocked the Finn into his team-mate.

Both drivers suffered damage and required pit stops, knocking them down the field and out of contention for the race victory.

"What is encouraging is after the accident, both cars - Sebastian and Kimi - were really damaged, on the floor and other parts, and even so, the performance they showed considering these troubles was quite good," he said.

"The positives we can take is that, despite extensive damage, our car proved fast and resilient throughout.

"We turn a page, we look forward to Monza with some positive information."
