Sebastian Vettel has confirmed that Ferrari is being much more open in 2019.

In the former Maurizio Arrivabene era, the Italian team operated a closed door policy when it came to communication and the press.

But Vettel doesn't think the new media policies operated by Mattia Binotto will make him any faster this year.

"Not unless your articles give me some points," the German smiled to France's L'Equipe.

In Bahrain this weekend is Louis Camilleri, the new Ferrari CEO in the wake of Sergio Marchionne's 2018 death.

He was happy to see Ferrari return to the top of the times on Friday.

"I think the strength of the team is that we are all calm," Camilleri is quoted by Sky Italia.

"Above all I think we have understood almost everything that happened in Australia," he said.

"The others are strong but we are positive. I think in the past there was too much pressure and when there is pressure, things start to get difficult."

One F1 fan comment on “Ferrari 'understood everything' after Australia

I just love how Seb goes about answering questions and making such witty comments about the team and the car he drives. i hope Ferrari can deliver now but I suspect that Mercs. will not allow them to run away yet. Charles might be a more danger to Vettel than Lewis has been and in my view competition between those too would be pretty fierce . We all know that Ferrari want to win but the question is whose car will be better prepared for the races and what part will strategies play here. They will support Leclerc if he shows he can deliver the title but I think that they owe something to Vettel and treat him accordingly. So they need to give him the car that is totally reliable and as fast as the one Charles has and then we will see who is producing the best results.
