Dec.7 - In a heartwarming visit to the Mulberry School for Girls in East London, Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton inspired future innovators and engineers, shining a spotlight on the critical role of STEM education. Hamilton's visit on December 5th was not just a routine celebrity appearance but a powerful statement about the importance of nurturing young talents, particularly from underrepresented backgrounds.

Hamilton, a seven-time World Champion, is more than just a motorsport icon. His commitment to empowering youth in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) was evident as he engaged with students in a series of STEM activities. His presence at the school, part of the collaborative effort between the Mulberry Schools Trust and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix's Accelerate 25 initiative, underscored a shared mission to diversify the field of STEM and, by extension, Formula One.

The students, brimming with enthusiasm and curiosity, had a unique opportunity to interact with Hamilton. They showcased their Greenpower Trust cars and engaged in a STEM fair, which included coding in a Robotics lesson and an immersive arts experience. These activities highlighted the students' burgeoning skills in digital and production arts, realms where technology and creativity intersect.

A standout feature of Hamilton's visit was his interaction with the Mulberry STEM Academy students. This academy, a brainchild of the Accelerate 25 program initiated in 2020, symbolizes a progressive partnership between the Mulberry Schools Trust and the Mercedes F1 team. It aims to provide innovative education, career coaching, and industry experience, fostering diversity in STEM and motorsport.

Dr. Vanessa Ogden, CEO of the Mulberry Schools Trust, lauded Hamilton as an inspirational figure whose achievements extend far beyond the racetrack. His qualities of determination, authenticity, and kindness resonate deeply with the students, making his visit a memorable and motivational experience.

Paul Mills, Chief People Officer at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix, echoed these sentiments. Witnessing the talent and potential of the students reinforced the significance of the partnership with the Mulberry Schools Trust. The hope is that many of these bright young minds will eventually contribute their skills to the world of Formula One and beyond.

For Hamilton, the visit was more than just an engagement – it was a chance to connect with the next generation of engineers and innovators. His parting words resonated with encouragement and hope. He expressed gratitude to the students and staff for their warm welcome and stressed the importance of the ongoing efforts to bring diversity into motorsport. As these young students continue their journey, Hamilton's influence and the opportunities provided by programs like the Mulberry STEM Academy will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping their futures.

Just what exactly is an underrepresented background? Is it like the underserved community that, thru excessive violence and crime has forced most of the businesses in that community to close their doors and thus create the underserved community they live in thru their own actions. Give me a break with all this underserved, underprivileged, underrepresented crap.

Basically the public are daft and will believe what they are told, I cite Boris as my evidence although im sure in other countries in which the public are just as easily manipulated, and for F1 the Government is the Fia so, sure we can make jokes about them , as we do with our leaders, but Binmans time will pass, unless he falls on his sword..........I"ll stop now lol
