Nov.7 - World champion Lewis Hamilton has found himself at the centre of an international tax avoidance scandal.

A trove of documents known as the 'Paradise Papers' reveals that the Mercedes driver as well as wealthy peers including Bono, Apple, Nike and even the Queen avoid tax through a series of secret offshore deals.

The Hamilton accusation centres around his private jet, in which Hamilton actually received a more than $4 million tax refund by importing it into the Isle of Man and claiming it was mainly used for business.

"We are talking about tens of billions that are effectively being leached from our vital public services by a super-rich elite that holds the taxation system and the rest of us in contempt," said British politician Jeremy Corbyn.

A lawyer representing Hamilton insists the tax arrangement is legal.

f this is true, the f1 organization must punish him very hard, he is then a very bad example for his fans and above all the F1 sport that gets a bad reputation among many. The best way is to take away the 2017 F1 title as a warning to other drivers and teams.

Nothing illegal in this. They're just playing by the rules the government made. If they don't like it they should change the law instead of sniveling about the loopholes their laws created.
    Quit being hysterical fools.

Love the Hamilton fan boys. This has nothing to do with Vettel or any other driver. Lewis or his account I should say dodged tax. If you are so devoted to him that when he potentially breaks the law that you still stuck his asshole. I pity you. Genuine pity for any weakling who is ok with ppl abusing a system and it being ok because you are a fan. Truth is. You are no fan. You are a subordinate. People in your life view you as a beta person. Not alpha.also fuck Bono.

Wow, this is the most comments I've seen on this site. I am not a big Hamilton fan but I am also not going to suggest he is stripped of his title based on something which has nothing to do with the sport. He is certainly not the only wealthy person who's accountants do such things to maximize income. As long as he has done nothing illegal this shouldn't even be an issue for the fans. No doubt there are many who would raise the issue of morality where certain tax loopholes are being exploited but the real problem there is that the loopholes exist to begin with which is a whole other problem and nothing to do with F1. I mean, kill him? Really? WTF people, grow up!
