Lewis Hamilton is not ruling out a move to Ferrari some day.

The new five-time world champion said he is aiming to "get close" to beating Michael Schumacher and becoming the most successful F1 driver of all time.

And it could happen in red.

The Mercedes driver told Italy's Autosprint: "At the moment it's difficult to imagine being elsewhere.

"Mercedes is my family, I grew up with them. That was the case even with McLaren, but I knew that I wanted to change and show everyone that I could win with another team.

"I knew I could, but I wanted to prove it," Hamilton said. "At the moment I am not thinking about going to another team to win with them as well. But you can never say never."

Perhaps he can swap with Seb in 2020 and we shall see if Vettel can win another championship driving for Merc. if he fails to get it with Ferrari next season. But I truly believe he can achieve his fifth title with the red team as I suspect Seb would love to honour his friend Michael Schumacher.I do not think that Michael's record will be broken. It would stay there for posterity as his unique achievement in F1. I just trust that he will one day be granted a miracle and be able recover as fully as possible and everyone who loves Michael need to pray for it to be granted and we can all rejoice and consider it to be the greatest victory of his life.He is always on my mind and heart.

What record are you talking about Jadra ? I mean Schumacher still has two records "for now" but not for long is what i think & quite ALOT of other F1 fans, media, paddock & ex-drivers agree. Lewis is driving better than he ever has, he's like a VINTAGE WINE friend like he showed last year & especially this year. Lewis is 20 race wins off beating that & as long as Mercedes give him the tools he'll sit with all the Records by the end of 2020. Oh i think Lewis will have at least 100 wins before he ritires, mind you heard it hear first.

I totally disagree with this statement Michael's records should be completely separate and disregarded dut to the point system and amount of races of today. Michael will always be a legend in the race community. Thinking of his family hope we see him when his son comes to f1 one day.

I too hope that MS recovers. It's a tragedy for him and his family.
If you consider that Lewis has now won 50% of all the races in the hybrid era that is certainly a real possibility Andrew and personally I'd like to see that happen as for me MS record is sullied by consistent cheating over his career. That said he was a truly gifted driver.
