Oct.22 - Lewis Hamilton has called on Formula 1 to rescue the embattled 'W Series'.

The all-female series, won since 2019 by 24-year-old Jamie Chadwick, should have been supporting the US GP this weekend but has wrapped up early for financial reasons.

Seven time world champion Hamilton thinks the FIA and Formula 1 should "100 percent" come to the rescue.

"They're not magnifying enough the great work that is being done," he said in Austin.

"I think we need to be doing more, and with the organisation, with Formula 1 and Liberty doing so well, it's not a lot for them to be able to help out in that space."

However, Formula 1 appears to be taking a different approach to the W Series demise.

Reports suggest the sport is setting up its own all-female series, with the Formula 3 cars to be run by existing F3 and F2 teams and limited to drivers no older than 20.

      So when the Fia do something , Hamilton will claim it was his idea, the truth is, if W series had not collapsed, we wouldn't have anything from the girl abot "doing enough", he makes me sick, the amount of cash it costs for W series , get each time to throw in a Mill + match fund it by the Fia, then everyone looks good, See, who needs Hannahs big gob to sort things out..

    The Fia dont give a toss, if they were serious, then they'd not have let W series fail in the first place, no better to let it fail , creditors don't get paid, people lose jobs, and only THEN do the Fia step in, does that give me confidence...!

    I'd love to see some biological female drivers in the F1 paddock. Here's one for 'ya - get Mercedes to sign Angela - and make Dame Lucille her biotch. Oh, that would be rich. I'd be her #1 fan.

    The W Series is obviously not a money making concern, otherwise Liberty would be supporting it in the current format.
    Really, let's be honest about this, apart from those directly involved, the global interest in the W Series is zero! Who can name six of the top competitors in the W Series? I know I for one can name only one, Jamie Chadwick. Although I can name every team and driver in F1, and most in F2 and F3.
    As I have said before, how can women expect equality when they don't want to compete on the same playing field. If they are good enough they should be competing in F3 and F2, then ultimately F1.
    Maybe Louise can donate some of her many millions to support the W Series, seeing she is so concerned about it, rather than just give it lip service!

      No I agree with you , it might not make money , the format might be wrong, a long term future it might not have have, BUT bad publicity after its in its 3rd series, letting it fail 3 races from the end--imo that's worse,a few $$$ to see the season through to the final while they are obv looking as a replacement series would have been a good thing PR wise, a thought on the fia, while the fia accountants with there obvious brilliance are forensically looking through the Rb books,Whose checking the Fias books?-- whiter than white FiFa-Mr Blatter,I think a big issue is Americans and Indy car(neither of which i have issues with ) for eg, it only races in America, noproblem with that at all, so one set of fans and one set of rules is fine for those fans, F1 races all over the world, im not saying different rule books but different fans attitudes/expectations/results and yet the same rule book, but also yes its the Fia, but that's what we've always had, i don't support them, or there past or current presidents who wear Nazi costumes I.E Mr Mosely to a president whose countries rulers get journos chopped up in embassies, guess what im saying is, all fans want hard racing but, its like a countries government , they each think their way of doing it is right., and now let us all sing hymn number.... rant over but it is Sunday .

        Hey, Stroppy. I share your sentiments. However, I think you went a bit soft on the FIA. When Max and Bernie ran the joint, the rule book was only 15 binders long, and there was always a lightning rod for people's displeasure or someone to blame. Essentially, there was some accountability.

        Now, the boffins running the FIA are all millennials with their flexible morals and ethics - plainly terrified of
        accountability for fear any decision will offend somebody and get them 'cancelled'.

        The autonomic response of course, is to create layer after layer of rules and regulations to insulate them from the consequences of enforcement. You know - extend both index fingers and cross your arms over your chest.

        I watch other racing series now and then. Most of the drivers exist on the ragged-edge of adhesion, trading paint and taking names. Some even have fights after the race on occasion. Raw as a three-week-old side of beef. Similar action minus the fights like at the Goodwood Revival held in Oz. Great stuff.

        And now, we have Dame Lucille calling out MadMax every time he "exceeded" track limits. FFS.

            I was highly amused by Louise's antics with her running commentary on the location of Max's tyres. Definitely the actions of someone who is desperate! The funniest part was Louise was so intent on trying to have Max penalised that she was almost penalised for the same infringements! The pot calling the kettle black!
