Lewis Hamilton has won the Chinese Grand Prix for the fourth time, thanks to an easy win in Shanghai.

Hamilton held off the challenge of Nico Rosberg in second and the Ferrari pair of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen in third and fourth.

The quartet were closely bunched up for most of the race, before Hamilton accelerated at the end of his second stint to build a large gap.

Vettel thought he could get past Rosberg through the pitstops, after Hamilton backed the German into the former champion.

However, Mercedes covered the move successfully and held off Ferrari's challenge.

Felipe Massa beat Valtteri Bottas into fifth, while Romain Grosjsean scored points for Lotus in an otherwise quiet race.

The grand prix finished under a safety car, as Max Verstappen suffered an engine blow up with three laps to go.
